Our Stepper Motor Cable Assembly

It can be directly connected to the printed circuit board, driver card or control module. The connector spacing can be adjusted according to your circuit board layout, such as 2.0mm, 2.5mm, or provide custom spacing for space-constrained configurations.

This cable uses 4 wires and is used to connect bipolar stepper motors with two groups of coils. The common wire diameters are 26AWG, 24AWG and 22AWG.

Both ends are equipped with compatible connectors for direct wiring installation. JST, Molex, TE, Hirose or equivalent specifications of connectors can be used.

One side is equipped with a connector, while the other side can be bare, soldered, welded or crimped. It is particularly suitable for direct welding, terminal connection or fixed installation.

The common extension lengths are 0.3m, 0.5m and 1m, and custom lengths can also be provided. The pin sequence must be consistent with the original cable.

For circuits close to sensors, printed circuit boards or signal lines, shielding can reduce the risk of electromagnetic radiation (EMI). Aluminum foil, woven shielding layer or drain wire can be used for shielding.

For mobile modules, the cable requires softer insulating materials and thinner copper wires. TPE, TPU, silicone or flexible PVC can be used to enhance the bending resistance.

Suitable for small modules, the cable needs to be integrated into a compact housing. The wire cross-section and connector spacing can be selected based on the available space. Common specifications are 1.0 mm, 1.25 mm and 2.0 mm.
Why You Need Our Stepper Motor Cable

You can choose insulation materials such as Teflon, PUR, and PVC to protect the electrical safety of your equipment and prevent short circuits.

It adopts a double-layer shielding structure. The inner layer is a fully covered aluminum foil shielding, and the outer layer uses copper wire mesh shielding.

When the stepper motor cable is tested with TPU cable, it can withstand more than 15,000 bends.

The IP protection level is IP65 or IP66. Even when exposed to dust and moisture for a long time, it can still maintain a stable connection.

The conductor coating includes tin plating, silver plating, nickel plating, etc., which can effectively enhance the corrosion resistance of the conductor.

The commonly used PVC heat-resistant material has a temperature range of -30℃ to 70℃. If your equipment requires a higher temperature, it can be customized.

The stepper motor cable has UL 94V-0 safety flame-retardant certification, so you don’t need to worry about safety issues when using it in your equipment.

The pure copper conductor and tin coating protection maintain the conductivity efficiency of the conductor contact surface.
Stepper Motor Cable Connector and Pinout Compatibility
Our stepper motor cable can be used in conjunction with third-party control boards. When connecting across different brand motors, you can directly use the cables without having to re-arrange the pins yourself. At ECOCABLES, for each different specification of cable, we will match the pin allocation chart, fundamentally avoiding the problem of incompatible connector and pin configurations, and helping you reduce losses caused by incorrect purchasing.

Electrical Testing for Stable Motor Performance
Before shipment, each cable is inspected, including its continuity, polarity arrangement, insulation resistance, and, if necessary, its withstand voltage performance. The factory is equipped with over 200 testing devices that can detect incorrect wiring, short circuits, open circuits, and poor electrical contact problems before delivery. These inspection processes help reduce the time for fault repair, the number of reworkings, and repetitive maintenance work on the production line.

About Ecocables

During the past 20 years of manufacturing stepper motor cables and harnesses, ECOCABLES has continuously upgraded its wiring design. There are various connection methods to choose from, such as socket type, straight-out leads, and leads with terminals. For example, in equipment with multiple motors operating, we have introduced an integrated wiring method, where multiple motor leads are combined into one external interface, making the wiring process simple and saving space in the equipment.
In small smart household appliances, we have also introduced a new type of lead-out design. Without the use of traditional protective boxes, it reduces the space occupied by motor installation, and at the lead-out point, the sealing ring is strengthened for protection.
Stepper Motor Cable Design Optimization Solutions

Stepper motor cable components are widely used in the mechanical modules of air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, smart toilets, ovens, and other household appliances. In the event of a circuit failure, this may result in motor shutdown, component re-starts, or very high after-sales maintenance costs.
ECOCABLES uses UL certified materials and ensures rigorous quality control for each cable through a strictly controlled manufacturing process and comprehensive electrical testing (including continuity, polarity, and pin sequence verification).

Small household appliances, such as coffee machines, smart locking devices and compact cleaning equipment, are typically faced with limited interior space and a high sensitivity to cost. Before any sampling, our engineering team examines the product’s structure and wiring layout, then recommends a cable design that fits the available space without adding unnecessary material costs.

In refrigeration units, minor changes in the needle position during repeated assembly or vibration may cause abnormal air flow control. ECOCABLES adopts a key-type connector structure to reduce connection errors. The PA66 housing contains locking strips, which help keep the connector in the correct position during assembly. The dual contact ports enhance connection stability.

During the repeated cycle process, vibration and moisture may cause the contact pressure between the connection terminals and the wiring screws to decrease.
ECOCABLES has developed a compatible conductor system using PBT sleeves. These sleeves can better maintain their shape in humid and high-temperature environments. Additionally, by adopting a double-pin contact terminal design,it supports a sealed compression pressure differential window with a pressure range of 0.2–0.3 millimeters, ensuring stable metal contact and helping to reduce resistance deviations in humid environments.

What Customers Say About Our Stepper Motor Cable Support
The four-wire stepper motor cable indicates the number of wires inside the cable, and is typically used for two-pole stepper motors, where four wires are connected to the two coil groups of the motor.
The four-terminal stepper motor cable indicates the type of connector, meaning that the cable is connected to an interface with four contact positions. The four-wire cable usually uses a four-terminal interface, but these two terms refer to different parts of the cable. However, the arrangement of the wires must comply with the definition of the motor contacts and the requirements of the electronic circuit diagram.
Not all shielded stepper motor cables are suitable for fixed type connectors. The connector must match the motor, PCB interface, pin count, pin spacing, current carrying capacity, and installation space. Connectors such as JST, Molex, TE, Hirose, or other connectors specified by the customer can be used according to project requirements.
For shielded cables, it is necessary to check the end treatment of the shielding layer before production. For compact products, it is also necessary to check the size of the connectors, locking structure, cable emission direction, and bending space before production.
No. Stepper motor cable colors do not follow one fixed global standard. Different motor suppliers may assign different colors to the same coil positions, so wire color should not be used as the only wiring reference.
Wire colors can still be customized for easier assembly and inspection. For production projects, the color arrangement should follow the confirmed motor lead definition, pin sequence, and cable drawing.
A stepper motor cable usually refers to the cable assembly that connects the stepper motor to a driver, PCB, or control module. It may include wires, terminals, connectors, shielding, labels, sleeves, or or heat-shrink tubing.
A stepper motor wiring harness is usually a more general term. It may include the stepper motor cable together with other branches, sensor wires, power wires, fixing parts, or multiple connectors inside the product. In many projects, the two terms are sometimes used for the same product, so the drawing, connector layout, and application should be checked before ordering.
